The amusing media feud between Australian Idol country boy Shannon Noll and Triple M's resident gagster Wil Anderson has come to an end after an olive branch was extended from the Sydney funnyman.
Noll, featuring in a glowing 60 Minutes puff piece on Sunday night, was questioned about the pot shot taken by Anderson directed at Noll's late father.
The 'Drive' singer said that Anderson was "weak, another man's bootstrap".
Anderson initially rose to the challenge on his Triple M program Wil & Lehmo, and invited the singer to get in the ring.
"It was one little joke a long time ago and I did say sorry. Does he need to hit me? I'm happy for him to hit me - if it will stop him banging on," Anderson said.
But Wil decided enough was enough after admitting that the swipe at Noll's dad was the "biggest regret of my career", and invited the singer onto his Triple M program to make peace.
Anderson admitted to Noll on air that he had been a "dickhead" and that he was "sincerly sorry" for any hurt he may have caused.
Noll was jovial, and joked with Anderson, saying that it was "nice to get it over and done with".
