Sydney drug busts continue

17/05/2008 12:10:00 PM.  | Elizabeth Pearson

There's been another major drug bust in southwestern Sydney overnight.

Operation Moonlight has lifted the lid on nine drug houses since Monday, the majority of operations taking place in the suburb Blair Athol.

Overnight, police stormed another home, this time in Auburn, seizing documents and records allegedly in connection with drug cultivation in the area.

In three separate raids at Blair Athol yesterday, four people were arrested, officers uncovering cannabis plants worth more than two million dollars.

Two men and a 36-year-old woman were refused bail.

They will appear in Parramatta Local Court today facing charges including cultivation of a commercial quality of a prohibited plant.

A fourth man was released pending further inquiry.

Police Minister David Campbell says detectives won't stop till they reach the bottom of the drug ring.

“Police will continue their efforts to crackdown on the drug trade - from those who grow it to those who import it to those who sell it.”

"Police have strong support of the Iemma government to track down those responsible for this filthy trade,” he said.

Don't the police have strong support from the Iemma government in other aspects of policing?

WOULD THAT BE THE CRIMES COMMISSION , ICCAC WILL WE KEEP GOING. the only reason you are doing it this way is you get more money this way then legalising it. What do they say SHAME , SHAME, SHAME you are all just legal MARFIA
