Rudd branded a 'foul-mouthed MP'

13/07/2008 8:57:00 AM.  | Richard Maxton & AAP

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's pristine image is about to be blown away with the release of a new book which claims he is foul-mouthed and launches into expletive-ridden rants in his office when things go wrong.

Author Dr Peter van Onselen says Mr Rudd is more complex than the church-going politician Australians see in public.

He told News Ltd the PM is known for his vile temper, is "somewhat of a potty-mouth" behind closed doors and uses the f-word in private.

Dr van Onselen says there are two Kevin Rudds -- the smooth talking public operator and the private one that only his staff get to see.

The claims are made in the book `Howard's End', which looks at the unravelling of John Howard's coalition government and the rise of Mr Rudd.

Dr van Onselen also co-authored Mr Howard's biography, which was published last year.

Oh. Yes. I always hated him. Fancy that, our smooth talking Mr.Rudd, is a swearer and abuser behind closed doors at his office. And tempers, well my dear friend in governance, things go wrong all the time, so don't go into baby four-year old tantrums.

In today’s pseudo macho Society Rudd will probably get brownie points for swearing. Just look at the popularity of swearing Chef Gordon Ramsay.

Oh please, everyone i know swears....some obviously more than others, but we all swear (men and women). I dislike Rudd as a PM, but he personally seems like a decent guy - i just don't like his style or politics...but it has nothing to do with his swearing, visiting of strip clubs, or getting drunk once in a while.

Don't (deliberately) miss the point folks - it's notthat Rudd swears or is bad tempered that is the issue, IT'S THAT HE PRETENDS TO BE SO PRISSY, PURE & CLEAN. Rudd is a first class buffoon that fooled the Australian public. He is clearly a one termer - thanks heavens. We are now all wallowing in recessionist collapse - AND RUDD NOW HAS TO START ACCEPTING THE BLAME FOR TALKING DOWN EVERYTHING THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY GOOD.

Well *%$# done, Ruddy. You just go ahead and say whatever you &@#$% want. This is Australia, land of free @#$%& speech and you can say whatever you @#*&^ want. Just don't do it in public like the rest of us.

It's all a tall-poppy window dressing sensationalist grilling attempt at discrediting Our Saviour, who, unlike Johnny the Communist despot, is only human like the rest of us. Whether or not he swears is of no concern to us. What about Bob Hawke? Did anyone discredit him? No! Not to mention Johnny's predecessor Mal? Kevin's not Mother Teresa but at least he knows he's not flawless and only doing his best. People have to come to terms with this fact whether or not you support him or Labor.

His old Brisbane public service staff indicated the bloke was a real screaming idiot. He'll drop the F word into a live mic sooner or later. One look at his vindictiveness in Parliament pretty well describe his real manner.

Kevin Rudd and Gordon Ramsay apparently share common brothel language skills. That is OK in Australia.
