Oscar winning actor Sean Connery has hit out at his former Australian wife after the Queensland theatre owner claimed he had disinherited their son.
Connery said his ex-wife, Diane Cilento, was “prepared to stoop to the level of the gutter” to get the better in their long time feud.
Connery was responding to Cilento’s claims to the UK’s Daily Telegraph that Connery had cut off their son, telling him to earn his own money.
But the actor, made famous for his roles as James Bond, says the claims aren’t true.
“I haven’t seen the woman in 37 years and she knows nothing about me or my life now,” Connery said.
“Diane can’t move on from the break-up of our marriage and I have already had to contend with her accusations about me being violent towards her.
“Now the lies seem to be getting even more vicious, and, what is worse, she is dragging our son into it.”
“As for being mean to him when he was a lad… I send him to Millfield, which is Britian’s most expensive public school and after than to Gordonstoun when it became clear to me that Millfield was rubbish,” he said.
