A Qantas plane bound for Manila was forced to make an emergency landing at Sydney Airport within two hours from take off.
The international flight took off at 1.20pm and was forced to make an emergency landing at about 3pm at Sydney Airport after the pilot was given priority clearance to land.
A Qantas spokeswoman said the plane landed without incident after the pilot became aware the plane had a hydraulic leak.
“On inspection by engineers it was determined the leak was coming from the spoiler actuator but was not evident before departure,” she said.
“There was no safety issue at any time.”
Aircraft engineers are inspecting the Boeing 767.
The two-hundred passengers on board flight QF19 are being accommodated on another aircraft due to depart at 5.30pm.
It comes a week after an explosion blew a hole in a Qantas jet flying from Hong Kong to Melbourne, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing in Manila.
