It has been revealed that Dancing With The Stars co-host Sonia Kruger has been ordered to be a “dumb blonde” by the producers of the disastrous Olympic panel show, Yum Cha.
An insider has claimed Kruger has been handed scripted “gaffes” including asking if the 48kg weightlifting event referred to the weights or the lifter, and her admission that she has not seen any of the sporting events.
"Channel 7 had a very deliberate strategy with the Yum Cha program, and that was to dumb it down in order to make it digestible for non-sporting viewers," the insider told News Limited.
"Everything on that program was scripted, and Sonia has executed the strategy exactly how Seven wanted it to play out."
Despite the strategy, the show has turned out to be a disaster, being critically slammed and leaving many viewers scratching their heads over the confusing format.
The show was considered as a replacement for Roy and H.G’s The Dream, a runaway success for the 2000 and 2004 Olympics.
