England fast bowler Stuart Broad took 5-23 as South Africa were bowled out for just 83 from 23 overs on the way to a heavy defeat in their one-day international at Trent Bridge overnight.
Broad played down his own figures – his best ever return – as England cruised to a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.
"Being part of a bowling unit it does not really matter who takes the wickets," Broad told reporters.
"We have also got the knowledge and experience of Andrew Flintoff and Steve Harmison and they are always passing it on.
"We are all bowling for each other and the fielding has been fantastic, which only gives the bowlers confidence. Hopefully we can seal the series on Friday."
The match also saw English wicket-keeper Matt Prior equal the world record for most dismissals, with six catches, before scoring 45 not out with the bat.
The victory continues Kevin Pietersen’s winning start as captain.
