A global sex study says mature Australians are having more fun between the sheets than researchers had suspected, with a third of men and women doing it more than once a week.
Australian statistics from the sex study looked at people aged 40 to 80, and show 83 per cent of men and 74 per cent of women in the age group have had sex in the past year.
Australian researcher and sex therapist Dr Rosie King says it's even more significant how many mature Australians have a lot of sex, with 38 per cent of the men and 29 per cent of the mature women having sex more than once a week.
But Dr King says there are problems in the bedroom too, including premature ejaculation and erectile difficulties among some men, and some women having trouble reaching orgasm and suffering a lack of sexual interest.
She says problems with sex increase with age, as more men develop diabetes and obesity, and start taking medication known to affect performance.
