Bodies-in-barrels killer jailed for 24 years

5/09/2008 12:17:00 PM.  | Gil Taylor
Kim Snibson has been sentenced to a minimum 24 years jail, for her role in the infamous bodies in the barrel murders, on the New South Wales South Coast

Nowra horse breeders Kathryn Mckay and her husband Gregory Hosa were knocked out, hog tied and thrown into two 44 gallon drums, and burnt in Tomerong State Forest, in January 2006.

37-year-old Kim Snibson has been sentenced to a maximum 32 years for her part in the murders.

The court has heard that Snibson told her accomplices that the victims had a sex video of her, which was recorded while she was drunk.

The court also heard Snibson told co-accused Stacey Lea Caton, ‘we’ll bash them, and get them to sign over things.’

In sentencing Justice Terence Buddin said the fact that Snibson cast herself as an unwilling spectator is at odds with reality.

Snibson pleaded guilty to the murders during her trial in May.

Lea Caton and another accomplice Andrew Flentjar are serving minimum terms of 16 and a half, and seven years respectively.

Snibson will be eligible for parole in 2030.

Our lives aren't worth much if we are murdered. 24, 16 and 7 years for murdering two people. Pathetic! Should be at least 40 years to life.

You have to wonder about the mind-set of people who do this kind of thing. Do we all have it? Are we all capable of such dastardly things? I wonder.

Board and lodgings in prison for 24 years is not enough. Why don't we bring back capital punishment? Taxpayers are sponsoring these criminals. Premeditated and violent crimes like this should attract the ultimate penalty - and lose their human rights! They should face the ultimatum.

Yeah that makes sense Vivienne...let's teach everyone that killing is wrong, to do that we need to kill people too! That sounds right doesn't it?
