There's been more dramas for Qantas this morning - fumes filled the cabin of a Melbourne to Sydney flight, forcing cancellations and throwing schedules into chaos.
A morning flight out of Melbourne to Sydney had to be cancelled when the cabin crew and passengers started smelling fumes.
The plane was already on the tarmac, and everyone was ordered off.
Qantas has confirmed engine trouble was to blame, and has since taken the plane off service.
It has caused big knock-on delays – many Sydney to Melbourne services have been cancelled, and delays are already expected to last several hours.
Meanwhile, another Qantas flight had to be cancelled overnight - it was an international flight from Melbourne.
Qantas said QF29, scheduled to leave Melbourne at 10.50pm (AEST) on Thursday, was delayed after an access panel on the wing was damaged prior to boarding. The panel had been removed to service a component behind it.
The plane with 308 passengers took off at 6.12am on Friday.
Qantas corporate communications adviser Joe Aston said passengers were not taken to a hotel because it was believed the aircraft would be back in the air promptly.
"Once it became evident the delay would be longer, refreshments were provided and the aircraft departed at 6.12 this morning," he said in a statement.
