Serbian second seed Jelena Jankovic defeated Russia's Elena Dementieva 6-4 6-4 to reach the final of the US Open today.
Jankovic advanced to the final where she will play either America's Serena Williams or Russia's Dinara Safina.
It will be Jankovic's first ever berth in a grand slam final.
"I have tears in my eyes," said an emotional Jankovic after the match.
"I have played in five semi-finals and to be in the final for first time in a grand slam is unbelievable. I'm thrilled."
