Man dies after car snaps power pole

6/09/2008 1:15:00 PM.  |
A man has been killed instantly when his out of control car snapped a power pole in half northwest of Brisbane on Friday night.

Police said the driver lost control on Emu Creek Road at Crows Nest, about 180 km from Brisbane, about 10pm (AEST).

They said the driver, alone in the vehicle, apparently lost control before his car and hit a power pole and snapped it in half.

He was killed instantly.

On the Sunshine Coast the Forensic Crash Unit is still trying to determine the circumstances surrounding a fatal early morning motorcycle crash.

A motorist discovered the dead motorcyclist, believed to be a 35-year-old man on David Low Way at Marcus Beach around 2.30am (AEST).
