The RSPCA has launched a nationwide hunt for a young man shown beating a kangaroo unconscious and possibly killing it in an online video.
The video shows the youth using kickboxing-style attacks on the kangaroo as his friend laughs while filming.
Sent to the RSPCA in Western Australia, it's unclear whether the attack resulted in the animal's death.
Native wildlife expert Steve McLeod believes the animal had been injured, possibly by a car, before being attacked, as it appeared to be very disoriented.
State RSPCA bodies have launched a nationwide appeal to catch the culprits.
LIVENEWS.com.au is not attaching the video at the RSPCA's request. The organisation fears its distribution could encourage copycat behaviour.
