A high profile Sydney businessman has pleaded not guilty to defrauding the Commonwealth Bank of more than $7 million.
42-year-old Matthew Rhodin is more familiar being on Sydney's A-list - than the dock of Central Local Court where he was this afternoon.
The boyfriend of television presenter Charlotte Dawson is facing three fraud charges over a commercial property he purchased at Darlinghurst last year.
According to police, Rhodin borrowed more than $7 million from the Commonwealth Bank and had statements signed by a tenant that the rent would cover the mortgage repayments.
But it's alleged there was no tenant - Rhodin defaulting on the mortgage after just one month.
His lawyer told the court he will be vigorously defending the charges and pleading not guilty to all three.
He was released on bail.
