Treasurer Wayne Swan has taken a swipe at the Opposition Leader for withdrawing money from an investment fund, while claiming the financial crisis had been exaggerated.

Malcolm Turnbull has admitted he took out money from a property fund, just before a number of investment funds put a freeze on withdrawals.

Treasurer Wayne Swan has told 2GB’s Philip Clark, Mr Turnbull was obviously concerned about the economic situation.

“Mr Turnbull, on the one hand, was saying the global financial crisis was overhyped, and on the other hand he was moving his own funds out of the system,” Mr Swans said.

“That tells you something about Mr Turnbull’s double standards.”

Swan you are a disgrace - Turnbull moved his money because he has no confidence in your government - the same as many corporates who are moving their businesses overseas as they too have no confidence in your government. If his money was frozen - Swan and Rudd would have been the first to have a go at him for not being able to manage his money the fact is that Turnbull is a step ahead of you morons - what Turnbull does with his money is his business

Typical of Swan to attack over the issue of appearance. I really wish Turnbull were PM right now. Australia would be in better hands than it is now. Can Swan do anything about appearing like an idiot? Australia are in a manufactured crisis, made by Swan's own dithering. NSW, post Greiner, had the opportunity of capitalizing on Greiner's good leadership by selling elctricity for upwards of $60 billion .. possibly double. Instead they held on so as to accuse Greiner of not being good. Same lesson.

Swan is a Grub. He is one of the biggest fools going. Look at what he has done, they are Muppets. Turnbull has brains. He is protecting his hard earned family wealth like the rest of us have done, from these fools. My money is my money, not Rudd or Swans, Not the banks or fund managers. What I do with it is no ones business. We have protected ourselves from these fools.

Where does our PM and Treasurer invest their money-come on someone make it public-as has happened to Malcolm Turnbull.

Desmond Harris, Its already public, from the same source as Turnbull's - the register of pecuniary interests which all parliamentarians must be on. Do try to keep up. A teensy bit of research befor shooting rom the mouth saves embarrasment.

Mick S,-You are displaying your ignorance-Who was the sticky beak Labor supporter that went public with the Turnbull information. Why dont the journalists publicise Rudd and Swan's information?-Am I going too fast for you?.

Turnbull never said "the GFC was overhyped". This statement has only ever been made by Rudd & Swan in parliament. Turnbull (I believe)N said that Rudd was 'overhyping" the GFC for his own political gain. Which is perfectly correct. Not once has Rudd shared the data upon which he based his decisions, yet expects unqualified support from the opposition. Rudd is a fool. The spin will end soon (hopeully)

This post is probably the silliest you have made Bolts.Read it again.John Howard would be proud of it.Julie Bishop may even copy it.Cant get a better endorsement than that.

Ha ha ha. Hirlarious, Geoff. How you can post tripe like that and then piously finish with "the spin will end soon (hopefully)". Pure comedy genius, love your work.

The Libspin will continue while you and your numerous alter egos have breath Boltsen. Good on Swan for giving some back to the gibbering Turnbull. This opposition is ensuring Rudd's next term by doing exactly what I expected them to do, act like a 'government in exile'.

Freestone, please reference the facts. October 20 "Turnbull Accuses Rudd Of Hyping Up GFC" Rudd references the GFC as "Rolling National Security Crisis" Turnbull says "Kevin Rudd has hyped up this financial crisis by saying it’s a rolling national security crisis, He has tried to present himself as a wartime minister with his tin hat on and bayonet fixed. The fact of the matter is we’re not at war.” Now most (sensible folk) would agree with Turnbull's observation. Facts Freestone, c'mon.

Sparrow, Turnbull never said the GFC was overhyped. If you can reference that quote anywhere I'd like to see it. Turnbull actually said "Kevin Rudd has hyped up this financial crisis by saying it’s a rolling national security crisis, He has tried to present himself as a wartime minister with his tin hat on and bayonet fixed. The fact of the matter is we’re not at war.” Quote, and facts end. Goodnight.

Sadly Freestone you believe the Rudd spin. I wish you luck in the future, in whatever you do. I hope Rudd does not fail you. Clearly you are devoid of common sense. The rest of us (well about 47% of us!) are in the real world and we like it there. Like others here, I am regrettably abandoning you. You only have to look at thge facts and you will see (if you want to) that Rudd is a liar. Goodnight.

Boltsen is severely rattled. He has gone back to the fantasy land where 47% of people agree with him. Sadly Boltsen, the latest poll on 27 Oct says that Rudd's personal approval rating jumped 8 points to 66%. It is only the various manifestations you use to post your worthless opinions who agree with you, and.... they are you as well. Even if you are too gutless to admit it.

Give them a free rein and see how these Libs go off there nuts. Turnbull is the goose and PM Rudd is doing a fine job running the country, what more do you want remember Howard was sacked gone forever.

Maybury, stop your broken record of rhetorics. Who is the goose? According to analysts Swan & Rudd are leading Australia into recession by the end of the year. Nothing more needs to be said.

That mal may just make a pollie yet. On "advice from his financial planner", the once "brilliant" merchant banker, who could make big calls himself when it came to deals, is now relying on a humble suburban financial planner. A pollie, from any side, can never get too much advice though. No pollies are self starters anymore. All pollies only get up in the morning after they have received the appropriate advice to get up for the work of the day from the alarm clock.

"I wonder where Rudd's wife gets her financial advice from??"??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????? I think you need, for the sake of people reading your replies to comments bolten, the word 'sic' in brackets such as (sic) so people aren't perplexed by them. I might be fun for you, bolten, to just sit at home all day typing out the random thoughts that come to mind and post those thoughts as comments but it makes it impossible for the rest of us who read them and then try and figure them out.

C'mon even you blithering lefty socilaists must agree that Swan is the Dan Quayle of Australian politics. "Roscoe" Tanner will be in his job within 12 months which will raise the Socialist Economic Management IQ by 1.5 percentage points. We right wingers don't need to put any "downward pressure" on Swan - he does that perfectly well himself every time the jibberer opens his mouth. I'm starting a "Belinda Neal for Treasurer" Campaign. Can't be any worse than Swan.

Lancey luv, the only three heads I can see are the stony one, the sparrow one and a (is it or may be) the burying one and that comes about only because you're all taking turns on the shoulders you're in so deep a bit like Krudd, Swann and any one of Wong Gillard or whichever other Dillard, none of them putting up anything of substance as they flipflop about attempting to make good use of opposition suggestions but then also just stuffing it up and so no blame on anyone wanting their money safe.
