Actress Sienna Miller has taken Australian paparazzo Darryn Lyons to court claiming a “campaign of harassment” has violated her human rights.
The 26-year-old star of movies like Alfie and Layer Cake began the legal action in London’s High Court with her lawyer saying she had been caused "substantial alarm, fear and enormous distress" by the "relentless pursuit".
Miller's private life and particularly her romantic liaisons are a daily fixture in newspaper gossip columns.
The court was told Miller was chased while driving and was subjected to "other forms of physical and verbal intimidation or abuse”.
Miller has also been chased to Heathrow airport on a number of occasions and pursued as she attempted to walk her dogs in the park with her mother.
She also claims harassment continued when she was outside the UK.
Miller’s claims are nothing new.
Earlier this year she told a court paparazzi photographers had chased her car across London after a night out as she tried to stop them finding out her new address.
She accused the photographers of driving like "lunatics" during the "frenzied" chase.
The actress was giving evidence in defence of her ex-boyfriend's brother Otis Ferry who was cleared of criminal damage after forcibly removing the keys from two photographers' cars.
Miller has not limited her legal action to Australian photographer Darryn Lyons but is also pursuing his photographic agency Big Pictures (UK) Limited claiming they are guilty of harassment and invasion of privacy.
Both the agency and Lyons are contesting the claims.
