Parents are being assured that the 43 CFK childcare centres in NSW will remain open for at least a month, despite the company going into voluntary administration.
It follows a failed $8.5 million sell off to ABC Learning which collapsed two weeks ago.
The government is seeking urgent talks to determine the fate of the child care centres, but Education minister Julia Gillard has told the ABC, the centres will remain open in the near future.
"Childcare centres cannot close without giving 30 days notice," Ms Gillard said.
"So people who need to rely on CFK childcare – today, this week, next week – it will be there."
Earlier, the Australian Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers Union had warned parents faced a "crisis" with the impending closures.
"We would say we are in an absolute crisis at the moment," Rebecca Reilly, executive vice-president of the union's NSW branch, told Fairfax.
"We are really concerned about these families and the workers in these centres."
