A man will face court today charged with grooming a young girl over the internet.
The 40-year-old allegedly thought he was chatting online with a 14-year-old over a period of three months.
It was actually an undercover police officer - it's alleged the man was sexually explicit during several conversations and that he performed sexual acts via a webcam and offered money to meet him and perform sexual favours.
Detectives arranged what he thought was a meeting with the girl at Parramatta - they were there to arrest him.
He's been charged with five counts of using a carriage service to procure a person under the age of 16.
He'll face Fairfield court today.
