The heavens opened, but NSW suffered a run drought against Queensland in the Sheffield Shield cricket clash at the SCG.
NSW finished day three at 3-138, still requiring six more runs to make Queensland bat again.
The Blues added 111 runs in 53 overs during a frustrating day which contained three rain delays before play was finally called off due to bad light.
Moises Henriques (36 not out off 110 balls) showed admirable patience and maturity in difficult conditions.
He added 46 runs in 109 minutes with Ed Cowan (21 off 98 balls).
Ironically, the most enterprising batting of an otherwise tortuous day came right at the end, when Henriques and wicketkeeper Daniel Smith (24 not out) launched a late attack on Chris Simpson (1-42) and Daniel Doran (0-11).
Smith blasted three fours and two sixes and Henriques also smashed one over the boundary in the dying moments of the day.
Smith belted 16 off the final over of the day bowled by Simpson, which was two more then NSW managed in a whole hour of a ponderous post-lunch session.
When Sunday's play finally started almost three hours late, NSW chiselled out just 50 runs in a 37-over session in which 96 minutes passed without a boundary.
Cowan, who only arrived from Adelaide on the day of the game after being called up as a late replacement for Peter Forest, took 82 balls to reach double figures.
Openers Phillip Hughes (22) and Usman Khawaja (28) doubled their overnight partnership to 54 before the Bulls broke through in the 13th over of the day.
Paceman Chris Swan (1-18) trapped Hughes lbw and only four runs were added in seven more overs before Khawaja drove a delivery from fast bowler Ryan Harris (1-48) to Martin Love at first slip.
With medium pacer James Hopes (0-12) also bowling tidily, NSW battled for runs in gusty conditions which forced the few hardy spectators to either retreat inside or to the very back of the stands.
