Unfamiliar roads aren't good for the stress levels if you're a female driver, while traffic jams are more of a bugbear for men.
Figures from NRMA insurance show women are twice as likely to get stressed behind the wheel if they don't know where they are, compared to men.
The survey says 44 per cent of women drivers feel stressed if they are lost, or don't know where they're going, while only 23 per cent of men feel the same.
Bad weather is a bigger concern for women, with 33 per cent finding it stressful, compared to only 14 per cent of men.
However, the survey found men are more frustrated in a traffic jam, with 55 per cent saying it triggers stress, compared to 47 per cent of women.
Grant Taylor from NRMA says while you can’t help getting stressed, there are ways to deal with it.
“Whilst we can’t control things that make us feel stressed… what I tell motorists is to recognise when they are stressed and take some positive action to relieve that, and pull over and stay safe.”
