Petrol prices plummeting

26/11/2008 5:42:00 PM.  | LIVENEWS.com.au
Only a few months ago it seemed a dream, but petrol prices across Sydney have dropped to the dream dollar a litre mark.

Unleaded is selling for as low as 99.7 cents a litre at Blacktown.

The average price at the pump today was $1.07.

The dramatic fall is being blamed on the financial crisis and turmoil on Wall Street.

He's touring again, and coming to a town near you. But seriously, who cares? Only gun toting redneck farmers use the filthy stuff anyway, and they all vote One Nation (the Nats havign fulfilled Paul Keating's prophetic statement that they are a 'political corpse ina suit and tie' years ago).

Poison Pen, Sydney. Don't know what happened to diesel, it's been a long time since he released an album, I had forgotten about him which was good. Hopefully he got a hair cut and a real job.

Yeah, filthy smelly stuff eh. The ONLY fuel allowed for use underground, why would that be Carrow? Peugot's small car runs 1100+ k to a 50ltr tank. Do you have anything to do other than show your ignorance to the world.? At a time when people are carrying on about Emissions, one could be forgiven for thinking that Diesel sholuld be embraced. The simple use of a reburner and diesel gives back very good quality exhaust/emissions numbers. Diesel power has won Le mans how many yrs now??

Nick, I think your deisre to embrace Diesel may be inconsistent with your views of gay sex in parks in Sydney a while ago. Matter of fact, I drive one of the zippy little peugeots you are talking about. Nice car.

This is all Rudd's fault, honestly how will the poor Oil Companies survive? I think what is needed now is a 5 cent a litre cut in the fuel excise.

Ahhh I think Howard/Costello were right all along- you can't do a dam thing about prices - the market will sort it out. Turnball was being really silly when he suggested cutting fuel excise (as I said at the time), and Rudd was being really silly when he told people he would do something about petrol prices...politicians what stupid games they play in order to convince people to vote for them!

Trucks that deliver goods to shops do not use petrol you mugs! That also costs you more at check-out. Anyway I was never Diesel fan. Farmers are the back bone of this country and also true Australians carrow, but your twisted little mind would not understand.

Poison Pen, Sydney. What farmers are these then? Most operations on the land these days are huge Agri-businesses controlled by city slickers who rip the guts out of the land for profit. There are very few farmers left, and as to the back bone, most of them are on welfare for the rich because they have destroyed the land they control. If farmers are the back bone Australia is a jellyfish.

Poison , most in the city area's don't see the semi trucks that come in during the night to unload their food in the supermarkets, and the markets. According to the knowledgable city people all farmers are "rednecks" etc. Usually they know very little of life outside the tar and cement they live in, or even where their food comes from. Now watch them insult me for "generalising" and "stereotyping"...funny that, seems some can generalise without a whimper being made. Oh well, cities produce nothing except garbage, so I guess when all the "redneck" "gun toting" "one nation" farmers all stop producing food, the city people can eat what they produce, garbage !!

Yeah 'Poison', it's tough. I was kinda joking about the whole 'who uses the filthy stuff', and really straining pretty hard to work in a Keating quote about the National Party. This terrific human being called Susan Lawe sent me on a research exercise the other day re: sayings of Keating, and I came across a great site which catalogued his insults. Sensantional. I am thinking of a bumper sticker, 'without farmers, Australia has less heads per capita' whaddayareckon?
