A fire in the kitchen of Hungry Jacks in Sydney's CBD has brought traffic to standstill during peak hour.
A cherry picker is parked in the middle of the intersection of Liverpool and George Streets, causing traffic chaos as firefighters attempt to extinguish the last of the flames.
Smoke can be seen pouring from the windows, most of which have been opened wide.
The blaze started on the street level of the restaurant, with firefighters now seen on the roof of the five storey building.
Fortunately fire crews were called to the building earlier, following a false alarm, and the blaze was quickly brought under control.
But fire superintendent Craig Brierly has told 2GB's Jason Morrison there's more work to be done.
"The fire is out, the main fire was in the kitchen. What we're doing now is, it has travelled into the ducting, we've got to chase that down."
Drivers are being urged to avoid the CBD as traffic builds up around the area.
