Violence on Melbourne's streets overnight has left five people in hospital.
Four men, all aged 22, were taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital after a stabbing in the city at 3.30am (AEDT) this morning.
One has undergone surgery and is in a critical but stable condition after suffering a stab wound to his chest.

It is believed the two parties involved were not known to each other.
In a separate incident, a man has been left with serious facial injuries after a fight on a bar dance floor turned nasty.
Just before 1.30am, a 21-year-old man from East St Kilda had a bottle smashed over his head by another man after getting involved in an altercation at the Bimbos Deluxe bar in the inner-northern suburb of Fitzroy.
The assault left the man with serious gashes to his head, the side of his face and his nose.
He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Police are looking for the men involved in both incidents.
