Sydneysiders have the chance to become the model, stylist and photographer as a 1970s photo studio is recreated.

Like a kid in a candy store, those who drool over the latest accessories will have it all at their fingertips – but only until the last click of the camera shutter.

Australia's newest Sparkling wine brand, M, is letting the public loose in an interactive event at Sydney hotspot Establishment, where a team of stylists, make-up artists and an array of vintage clothing will be on hand for their own photographic transformation.

The M studio was inspired by famous photographer Helmut Newton, who created the Newton photo machine, so he could capture subjects as they see themselves.

M photo studio stylist, Tegan Bridesdon says it’s a great opportunity for people to get creative.

"You get to play the role of the stylist, the photographer, the muse – all in one," she said.

"Create your own interpretation of modern vintage."
